There was no waiting. Once we got home, we called our parents to see if
they were available for FaceTime. Neither of them were home, so the
first person to find out was Lara.
I had this great idea that we would use balloons to reveal the genders.
Kurt & I would both hide blue balloons behind our hands & then
blow them up. Lara caught on right away & shouted in surprise. She
was really excited for us :) Next up, Ken & Connie. They were both
shocked to see two blue balloons, as well. It's kind of like - No way! -
when you first find out. Ken already started planning a fishing trip
for when the boys are 10 :) Katie called us a little later. It was fun
watching her expression, and afterwards, she said that she's actually
more excited that they're boys. (Of course for selfish reasons, but we
don't mind.) My parents were last, & they didn't quite get the whole
balloon thing. I think it was because our call cut out right as we were
about to blow them up, so we had to start all over again. Mom said that
she first thought we were going to sing :) That made me laugh! They,
too, were excited for us & glad that we were having boys to carry on
the Cline name.
Overall, it was a great time sharing our experience with our families!
Now that we know we're having boys, there's so much planning to do. Lara
even asked Mike was her budget was. Kurt said $1 a month or only
diapers. Of course, I expect Lara to get my babies some pretty cute boy
clothes :) How fun!!
